Job Title: NICU Nurse

Location:  Denberwa MCH Center

Department:  NICU Unit

Job Type:  Full-time

Report to:  Mathron /NICU Manager

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and dedicated NICU Nurse to join our maternal and child health center.  The ideal candidate will provide high- quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns in our NICU.  This role is pivoted in supporting families and working closely with pediatricians and allied health care professionals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care to neonates in critical condition, including ventilator and incubator care

  • Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient’s conditions with urgency and accuracy.

  • Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapy, ensuring accurate dosages and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate records of patient care condition, progress, and concerns

  • Operate and trouble shoot NICU equipment such as ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps and incubators.

  • Collaborate with pediatricians and other NICU staff to plan and deliver care.

  • Educate and support parents and families including guidance on neonatal care and bonding.

  • Follow all infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols.

  • Participate in emergency resuscitation and neonatal code blue situations.

  • Stay updated with Latest NICU nursing practices and attend ongoing training and development programs.

Job Requirements

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of science in Nursing (BSN) or diploma from a recognized health institution

  • Valid nursing license/registration certificate 

  • Basic life support (BLS) neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) certificate 

Required skills and competencies:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in neonatal nursing care

  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision making skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and function efficiently in high stress emergency situations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

  • High attention to detail and precision in monitoring and documentation.

  • Empathetic, patient-centered care approach

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a NICU

  • Experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced maternal and child health setting is strongly preferred.
