THE ROLE OF THE AREA SALES MANAGER REGIONAL

Contributes to the success by ensuring sales volume is optimized in the area of assignment. Hawassa, Bahirdar, Arbaminch and Jimma.

Job’s General Objective

Contributes to the success of Hulegeb Online solution by leading and managing the sales team by developing and implementing business plan, including sales strategies and profit goals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Involves in the hiring, transfer, suspension decisions, layoff, dismissal or assignment of employees

  • Coaches, mentors, and develops staff, including overseeing new employee on boarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.

  • Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall expectations of the Company and that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization.

  • Leads employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contributions;

  • Exercises administrative decisions in his/her own work teams that includes employee recognition, rewards and disciplinary action with the assistance of Human Resource Department.

  • Prepares work plan, oversees the performance of tasks within the work unit and produces periodic performance reports.

  • Establishes and maintains relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operations of the work unit

Functional Responsibilities

  • Leads and drives the performance of a team of Shop Managers, sales agents and sales shops.

  • Communicates comprehensive plans and implements the Company goals.

  • Delivers targets within the assigned area utilizing the scorecard to measure success.

  • Ensure all activity within the area complies with the requirements of the national regulations, the Company’s license and protecting customers.

  • Responsible for the rigorous delivery of the business plan and tackle issues specific to the assigned area in the most effective way.

  • Manages the cash register and cash receipts of the area sales shops in collaboration with the Finance department

  • Regularly monitors KPIs and data to ensure continuous improvement of shop performance.

  • Diligently manage all cost lines within the budget, ensuring all profit protection processes are implemented effectively.

  • Understand and implement what is required to deliver the optimal return on investment.

  • Have an excellent knowledge of the assigned area of operation and a curiosity about competitor activity and what is happening across the industry.

  • Create a high performing team across all shops by ensuring people management activities such as recruitment, on-boarding, training & development and performance management, are delivered and managed consistently and to a high standard.

  • Take ownership for the operational delivery of the people plan, focusing on engaging and developing colleagues and creating a robust succession plan.

  • Provide in the moment feedback to colleagues, creating a high support, high challenge culture.

  • Proactively address any issues that arise head on and be prepared to have difficult conversations as often as the need arises, with impact.

  • Ensure all colleagues receive timely, relevant, meaningful communication with regular briefings

  • Ensures legal requirements are properly complied across all shops

  • Performs other related duties as required

Job Requirements

Area sales Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • MA/BA Degree-Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Business Management or Accounting

  • 4/8 Years years’ previous experience in Area sales Manager
