New Millennium Women Empowerment Organization (NMWEO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2007 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The organization was previously registered at the Ministry of Justice under registration number 3018 and later registered and licensed by the Federal Charities and Societies Agency as an Ethiopian resident’s charity by the Charities and Societal Proclamation No. 621/2009 by registration No. 0539. NMWEO has been re-registered according to the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 113/2019 with registration No. 0539.

Mission
Our mission is to empower Ethiopian women, girls, and youth in economic, political, and social dimensions and help them unlock their potential in decision-making through capacity building, advocacy, leadership development, and humanitarian intervention programs.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Communication Officer to lead and support our communication efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively promote our mission, programs, and campaigns to various stakeholders.
Develop and execute strategic communication plans to increase visibility and engagement.
Create compelling content for websites, newsletters, reports, press releases, and social media.
Manage NMWEO’s social media platforms and monitor engagement analytics.
Build and maintain relationships with media, partners, and stakeholders.
Ensure brand consistency across all communication materials.
Support event promotion, donor communication, and advocacy campaigns.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a communications role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
Proficiency in content creation tools and social media management platforms.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Passion for women's rights, empowerment, and social justice.
