Job Title: Office Engineer – Mall Building Project

Location: Addis Ababa

Employment Type: Full-Time 1-Year Contract

We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Office Engineer to support our site operations for a large-scale mall project that is nearing completion. The Office Engineer will act as a critical link between the site team, consultants, and the project management office, ensuring smooth coordination, accurate documentation, and timely communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and maintain all technical documentation including drawings, method statements, and work schedules.

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, and updating project progress reports.

• Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.

• Manage and track RFI (Requests for Information), submittals, and shop drawings in line with project specifications.

• Support the procurement process by preparing material requisitions and verifying technical compliance of materials.

• Liaise with consultants and design teams to resolve technical issues promptly.

• Prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management review.

• Monitor adherence to quality standards and project specifications during execution.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Education: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in office engineering or technical coordination for large-scale building projects (commercial projects preferred).

• Proven ability to handle project documentation and coordination for finishing works and MEP integration.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office Suite.

• Knowledge of finishing materials and MEP coordination processes.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong communication and coordination skills to interact with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in high-end commercial or mixed-use projects.

• Familiarity with contract administration and progress billing procedures.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
