ABOUT KURMUK GOLD MINE PLC (KGM)
Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with mining operations in multiple countries including Ethiopia, Mali, and Côte d'Ivoire. KGM holds a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three Exploration Licenses for its Ethiopian project. These licenses are located in western Ethiopia, approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa and about 90 km northwest of Assosa, in the Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State. KGM is currently engaged in both mine development and exploration activities at the site.
KGM is searching for Production Geologists with a minimum of 4 years of experience, to collect and interpret geological data to guide short-term mine planning and operations, focusing on grade control, ore body identification, and minimizing dilution and ore loss through collaboration with mining engineers and mine planners. Duties will include but will not be limited to the following:

Identify, classify, and map ore zones to control ore grades and minimize dilution from waste rock in the open pit.
Conduct field surveys, log drill cores and rock chips, and collect samples to gather detailed geological data for resource delineation and optimization.
Use specialized software (like Database, GIS, and Leapfrog or similar software) to create and update geological and grade-control models, providing a 3D understanding of the ore body.
Provide direct support to mining operations by "spotting" ore for excavators, delineating ore after blasting, and directing production crews to the correct areas.
Work closely with mining engineers, planners, and processing teams to integrate geological insights into short-term and long-term mine planning and extraction processes.
Prepare detailed geological reports, document data accurately, and maintain databases to track production and stockpile grades.
Ensure that mining operations adhere to environmental and safety regulations and participate in risk assessments to mitigate geological hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification/diploma in Geology from a recognized institution
Minimum Experience
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in open pit production geology in a mine setting with experience in sampling practices, grade control systems and reconciliation.
Proven experience in using geological software and geostatistical data analysis tools such as Database, GIS, and Leapfrog or similar software, in particular 3D modelling.
Required Technical Skills
Strong understanding of geological principles and concepts.
A good understanding of quality control and quality assurance protocols.
Ability to interpret geological data and develop accurate resource models.
Strong 3D interpretation and modelling skills.
Demonstrated ability in the production of technical documentations and reports.
Experience in exploratory data analysis and advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical skills with ability to verify and validate geological data.
Ability to interpret geological information in 3D.

Communication Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with other team members - English proficiency will be an advantage.
