Job Description

The Cost and Budget Section Head is responsible for managing, controlling, and continuously improving the daily operations of the Cost and Budget Section. He or she will be accountable for the overall success or failure of the section and must ensure the preparation of insightful, timely, accurate, and relevant financial and budgetary reports to support strategic decision-making.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Cost and Budget section

  • Review and verify the accuracy of cost sheets for produced items

  • Supervise, lead, guide, and support section staff to ensure effective performance

  • establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders

  • Ensure the accuracy and correctness of all cost document postings

  • Prepare monthly input-output reports to analyze production efficiency and cost performance

  • Prepare budget vs. actual consumption variance reports and report to decision makers

  • Prepare monthly adjustment records to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • Prepare monthly performance reports for each profit center and the company as whole

  • Provide explanations and supporting documentation in response to internal and external auditor inquiries

  • Lead and actively participate in the annual inventory count and oversee related adjustments

  • Prepare detailed analysis of VC and FC  of production to support cost control and pricing decisions

  • Prepare reconciliation of subsidiary ledger with their respective general ledger

  • Develop cost allocation sheets detailing total production to compute unit costs for produced items

  • Update and maintain the fixed asset register, including recording depreciation costs

  • Prepare monthly consumption report based on records of incoming and issued materials.

  • Perform various cost analysis including standard cost and actual cost analysis

  • Prepare monthly and yearly inventory valuation report

  • Organize cost reports that help as an input in the preparation of periodic financial statements

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance with Eight (8) years and above of relevant work experience of which Three (3) or more than three years should be at a given position Good Knowledge of Team management skill and Ability to work independently

  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Peachtree accounting is must and ERP system is a plus

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of professional accounting and financial management principles is must

  • Training and implementation Experience in IFRS is a must

  • Experience in manufacturing industry is must and plastic and packaging industry is a plus
