• Salary: 27,000 ETB Gross

Begegnung eV, is a registered German NGO with over 11 year of service in Addis Ababa, is seeking a compassionate and committed Special Needs Education Teacher to support its mission of empowering socially deprived and disabled children. The ideal candidate will foster inclusive education, collaborate with families and educators, and promote a resilient community through tailored learning and emotional support. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with parents and the school community to ensure inclusive education with comprehensive support for children with disability.

• Foster creating learning goals and objectives for students with emphasis to students with disabilities.

• Communicate with parents about their child's progress and needs.

• Provide emotional and behavioral support to students.

• Raise awareness among teachers to apply behavior management techniques to create positive learning environment for all children.

• Promote regular assessment and document student progress

• Adjust teaching methods as needed based on individual progress. 

• Raises awareness of parents to support children's learning at home.

• Be a resource person and promote awareness of special need issues among the school community

• Help students develop social skills self-advocacy. 

• raise awareness among teachers to apply behavior management techniques to create positive learning environment for all children.

Job Requirements

• B.Ed in Special Needs Education, Educational Psychology, Applied Psychology and Nursing with specialized course in Special Needs Education.

• 2-year experience,

• Experience working with children, specific needs groups and educational Institutions has advantage,

• Experience working with children with sevier multiple disabilities will be bonus. 

• Knowledge of child protection principles.

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children and individuals at all levels.
