Job Description

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support officer/Counselor will provide mental health and psychosocial support services for special industry zones female workers, supervisors and managers. S/he will be responsible for identifying factory workers who need psychosocial support and provide psychosocial supports/ counseling, Conduct awareness sessions on MHPSS, provide skills training, establish onsite or referral-based counseling and strengthen safe counseling spaces.
Development and distribution of IEC/BCC materials including peer learning guide.
Provide Training of Trainers (ToT) for peer educators selected from workplace leaders.
Conduct awareness sessions on MHPSS for female worker, worker supervisor, and HR staff through peer education session.
Facilitate female workers classroom training by peer educators.
Establish onsite or referral-based counseling by deploying trained psychosocial counselors.
Strengthen safe counseling spaces at Special Industry Zones.
Map service providers and create referral pathways.
Providing training to strengthen one-stop centers and health facilities to effectively receive and manage worker referrals.
Facilitate training for IPDC, EIC & labor and training staff, nurses, health officers, and IP staff on mental health identification and support.
Conduct Psychosocial First Aid training for selected first aid committee, HR, nurses, worker representatives, and safety officers.
Provide MHPSS Awareness training for workers’ families & community leaders.
Conduct periodic follow-ups and well-being assessments of referred workers.
Conduct monthly review meetings with peer educators to review the achievement of planned activities and challenges encountered.
Responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual plan and report of the program
Work closely with the program and finance team and special industry zones to ensure that program team gets timely support and monitor budget expenditure in a timely manner.
Create detailed psychological profiles of each beneficiary and conduct baseline and follow up reports to track individual progress
Complete data collection, data entry and required report and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with program timelines and standards to track progress of each participant.
Keeping confidential records/data records of clients and building a relationship of trust and respect with target beneficiaries.
Listening to beneficiary concerns, empathizing with them and helping them to see things more clearly or in a different way and monitor their progress.
Perform other additional activities as directed by the organization or line managers

Qualification and work experience:
BA/MA in Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology or in related fields
4/2 years of professional experience in Mental health and Psychosocial support/counseling, provision of Safe Space, shelter services and another related project management/implementation.
The incumbent should have sound experience and ability in project design, planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, coordination and local partnership development, project team management, experience in developing project related materials (guidelines, manuals, protocols etc.).
Experience in facilitating trainings and workshops, among others. NGO experience is desired.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, and a strong team player and proven ability to influence effective team performance. (Proven integrity and human relation).
Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively liaise with staff, project participants and other stakeholders.
Skills in developing MEL plans, data collection tools and indicators development, data quality management and survey/assessment undertakings.
Competencies
Demonstrating experience and having TOT training certification on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support services is an additional advantage. .
Demonstrated analytical and report writing skills.
Excellent written and oral communication in local and English language.
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, think creatively and strategically
