Job Description
Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, “Civil Society Organization” established in 2014. ASDEPO is mandated to operate in all regional states of the country and is engaged indifferent thematic program areas of intervention namely: Humanitarian Response, Education, Nutrition, Health/HIV and AIDS/RH, Women and Youth Economic Empowerment, Gender Based Violence and Child Protection, Migration/Human Trafficking, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (Wash), NTD’s Climate Change, Agriculture, Urban Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Training in Addis Ababa, Gambella, Oromiya, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar, SNNPR and Somali Region.
Regional Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of ASDEPO within a specific region. This role involves managing field offices, ensuring effective implementation of programs and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. The Regional Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact between ASDEPO and local partners, government authorities, and community representatives within the region.
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement strategic plans for the region in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
Provide leadership and guidance to field office staff, ensuring effective program implementation and adherence to ASDEPO's policies and procedures.
Monitor and evaluate program performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending appropriate actions.
Program Management:
Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of programs and projects within the region, ensuring they align with ASDEPO's mission and objectives.
Collaborate with program managers and field staff to ensure timely and efficient execution of activities, adherence to project plans, and achievement of desired outcomes.
Conduct regular visits to field offices and project sites to assess progress, address challenges, and provide technical support as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and maintain effective relationships with local partners, government authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
Represent ASDEPO at relevant forums, meetings, and events within the region.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities, leverage resources, and enhance program impact.
Financial and Administrative Oversight:
Monitor the financial performance of field offices, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and financial policies.
Review and approve financial reports, expense claims, and procurement requests from field offices.
Coordinate with the Finance and Human Resource Departments to ensure proper Human resource and Financial controls, reporting, and compliance.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare regular reports on program activities, progress, and outcomes within the region.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of required reports to the head office and relevant stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of program activities, including success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.

Requirement
MA or BA degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project management development studies, international relations, social sciences). with a minimum of three years relevant work experience.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels.
Knowledge of the local context, including cultural, social, and political dynamics within the region.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Proven experience in program management and coordination, preferably in emergency projects is an advantage
Good communication and report-writing skills
Interest in and ability to work in a team.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Extremely flexible, able to work independently, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
Desirable
Knowledge on emergency /IDP context is mandatory.
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Local language (Qafar)
