We are seeking a skilled and culturally competent Chinese Language Translator who is fluent in Amharic and English, with preferable knowledge of Somali, to support communication across multilingual teams, clients, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will provide accurate, context-sensitive translations of spoken and written material from Chinese to Amharic/English and vice versa, and optionally Somali.

Job Requirements

Education

• A bachelor's Degree or certification in Translation in Chinese Language

Qualifications

• Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin), Amharic, and English is required.

• Proficiency in Somali is a strong asset.

• Proven experience in translation and/or interpretation (written and verbal).

• Strong understanding of the cultural context of the languages spoken.

• Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams.

• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, translation tools).

• Previous experience in government, NGO, or international organization settings.
