Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Operations Manager to lead and optimize our daily operations involving the import, warehousing, distribution, and regulatory compliance of medical devices. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, supply chain knowledge, and coordination skills to ensure smooth and efficient operations while upholding high standards of compliance, customer service, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

• Supervise daily import, warehouse, logistics, and delivery operations.

• Follow up on proforma request and tenders on local procurement websites and different sources.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement and sales teams to ensure product availability.

• Manage communication with international suppliers and oversee shipment coordination, including customs and freight forwarding

Process Improvement & Planning

• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.

• Forecast demand and plan operational capacity accordingly.

• Lead and monitor continuous improvement efforts across departments.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with EFDA, Customs, and Ministry of Health regulations for medical device imports.

• Oversee all documentation related to import licenses, product registration, and certifications.

• Collaborate with the regulatory team to ensure all supplier documents and permits are valid and up to date.

Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise the operations team, including warehouse, logistics, and administrative staff.

• Conduct regular staff training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.

Cross-Department Coordination

• Collaborate with sales, finance, regulatory, marketing, and technical support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and timely service delivery.

• Provide operational support for tenders and major projects, including fulfillment and logistics documentation.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field.

• 2–3+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare supply industry.

• Strong understanding of import/export procedures, including customs clearance and international logistics.

• Familiarity with medical device regulations and international quality standards.

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience managing relationships with international suppliers and logistics partners.

• Knowledge of public and private sector tendering processes.

• Experience in project-based healthcare distribution.
