Job Description

  1.  CVM is seeking for 1 psychologist who must be located in Haidya (Hosanna). 

 2. Function of the Job  

The Psychologist counsels and backs up minor trafficked girls, liaising with the psycho-social support service, involving beneficiaries individually and directly. 

 3. Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify trafficked minor beneficiaries at their respective locations. 

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments of beneficiaries to identify their needs. 

  • Support beneficiaries, families and communities in building their capacity to independently address their own needs and problems. 

  • Arrange individual and group counseling sessions once a month to ensure the psychosocial needs of beneficiaries are adequately met. 

  • Coordinate with the project's psychosocial support service staff (PSS) for multidimensional case management and project impact followup

  • Create connections with schools, teachers, and peers to promote their education pathways and prevent the influence of illegal traffickers.

  • Collaborate to define the most appropriate reintegration support pathway, including proposing individual endowments and identifying external services. 

  • Orient beneficiaries to available services in the area and facilitate access to new training, workshops, and other opportunities. 

  • Perform regular follow-ups with beneficiaries, particularly those who require close monitoring. 

  • Facilitate project supported activities, followup beneficiaries at school and communities

  • Create linkage with the domestic workers’ association in the area to promote protection 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing the mental and emotional needs of beneficiaries. Maintain continuous communication with the project coordinator and psychosocial service staff (PSS) during missions and through remote communication channels. 

  • Facilitate trainings, workshops and other project activities

  • Prepare, update, and maintain various data, records, charts, and reports. 

  • Provide regular updates and reports to the supervisor regarding the status and progress of beneficiaries.

  • Perform other activities assigned.

Job Requirements

5. Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology

  • Previous experience of at least three years in social intervention coordination and/or equivalent functions

  • Strong interpersonal and empathic skills, analytical, reporting, independent and teamwork skills

  • Good command of English

  • Excellent knowledge of Amharic & local language (Hadiya language is a must

  • Excellent skills in written communication and reporting

  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office) and data analysis

  • Strong organization of documents (financial and non-financial)

  • High degree of ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters

  • Equal skills preference will be given to female candidates to facilitate relationship with beneficiaries
