As we continue to expand our operations and partnerships, we are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Finance to lead our finance function, strengthen governance, and support growth with robust financial leadership.

Role Purpose

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the overall financial strategy, governance, and control of NG Trading. This role requires a strong leader who can modernize finance operations, provide financial insights for decision-making, and ensure the company maintains a healthy financial position to support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership & Control

  • Own and oversee all financial management, accounting, and control processes.

  • Ensure timely preparation, accuracy, and compliance of financial statements, audits, and statutory filings.

  • Provide regular P&L reviews and financial “pulse checks” to inform leadership decisions.

• Strategic Partnering

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, ensuring all business decisions are financially sound.

  • Drive financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to support expansion in FMCG distribution, industrial imports, and agricultural exports.

• Team & Structure

  • Lead, mentor, and restructure the finance team to build a high-performing function.

  • Implement best practices, processes, and controls to strengthen discipline and accountability.

• Systems & Processes

  • Lead ERP implementation, integration, and full utilization across the business.

  • Standardize financial reporting, management books, and controls for efficiency and transparency.

• Capex & Asset Management

  • Oversee capital expenditures and ensure effective asset management.

  • Establish strong governance for investment decisions and working capital management.

• Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local financial, tax, and legal frameworks.

  • Manage risks proactively to safeguard company assets and reputation.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).

• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance management role.

• Experience in FMCG distribution, import/export, or related industries is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax law, and corporate governance in Ethiopia.

• Proven track record in ERP implementation and financial systems optimization.

• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
