About the Role:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key custodian of our financial integrity. You will go beyond basic bookkeeping to manage complex accounting cycles, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and provide insightful analysis that drives business decisions. You will report directly to the Finance Manager and play a vital role in month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Full Accounting Cycle: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.

• Inventory & Cost Accounting: Take charge of accounting for petroleum inventory, including valuation, reconciliation, and cost of goods sold analysis.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

• Compliance & Regulation: Ensure strict adherence to industry-specific tax regulations, including federal and state excise taxes on fuels.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing variance analysis and commentary.

• Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.

• Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting systems using ERP software.

Job Requirements

What We're Looking For (Qualifications):

• Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.

  • Solid experience within the oil & gas, petroleum distribution, logistics, or a related commodity-based industry is a significant advantage.

  • Deep understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and experience with large ERP systems.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
