The Financial Manager (Cost Management) will be reporting to the Finance Director and will lead the Cost Accounting Section in the department by maintaining cost control and financial planning activities across all departments and business units. This includes preparing budgets, forecasting financial performance, analyzing costs and profitability, and helping the company make informed financial decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Help departments create and review yearly budgets for operations and capital expenses

• Update budgets during the year to reflect changes in goals or resources

• Prepare regular forecasts for income, expenses, and cash flow using past data and current trends

• Run financial scenarios to help leaders understand possible outcomes and make informed choices 

Cost Management and Inventory Control

• Track all inventory movements and maintain a strict inventory control

• Calculate and review the cost of goods sold (COGS) for each business unit and site

• Monitor and analyze all types of costs—CIPs, direct, indirect, and overhead

• Work with Supply Chain and Engineering departments and follow up on all movements of inventory at all sites and business units.

Variance & Budget Control

• Compare actual purchases to the monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, and prepare timely variance analysis BVA reports

• Inspect unusual cost changes and suggest solutions

• Analyze the profitability of projects/construction sites, and business units 

• Provide insights into margins and cost structures to support better decision-making

Preparation of Ratio and Financial Analysis

• Track performance and support planning

• Actively participate in internal and external audits by organizing cost records and documentation

• Analyze and interpret financial ratios and come up with insights to support management in making informed decisions

Compliance & Reporting

• Make sure all financial planning and analysis

• Keep organized records that are ready for audits

• Prepare reports and summaries for senior management

• Work with the tax accountant to advise on tax savings, allowable costs, and budget changes

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

The ideal candidate is expected to have a Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance/ related fields with a minimum of 10 years hands on experience in leading cost accounting teams, preparation of annual and master budgets, cost control, variance and profitability analysis in a factory and/or construction setting, out of which with at least four years’ experience as a manager.
