Job Description

As a Storekeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory in a retail or warehouse setting. Your duties will include receiving and storing items, maintaining accurate records of stock levels, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that items are properly organized and easily accessible for retrieval.

Required skills

Inventory Control

  • Tracking daily usage and replenishment of coffee beans, milk, sugar, cups, etc.

  • FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to ensure freshness

  • Monitoring expiry dates and rotating stock accordingly

Stock Receiving and Inspection

  • Checking the quality of received coffee beans or supplies

  • Reporting any damage, spoilage, or incorrect items

  • Verifying quantities against purchase orders or invoices

Storage Management

  • Storing beans in a cool, dry place (especially whole beans and grounds)

  • Ensuring proper container sealing to preserve aroma and flavor

  • Keeping coffee storage areas clean and pest-free

Use of Inventory Software or Tools

  • Familiarity with café POS systems or simple inventory software (e.g., Square, Toast, or Excel)

  • Daily or weekly stock reporting

Communication Skills

  • Coordinating with baristas, suppliers, and managers

  • Reporting low stock or issues with delivery

Organizational Skills

  • Categorizing supplies (beans, cups, condiments, equipment parts)

  • Keeping storage neat and easy to access, especially in small cafés

Physical Handling

  • Lifting sacks of coffee beans or boxes of supplies

  • Receiving deliveries and stocking shelves

Health & Safety Awareness

  • Following hygiene standards (especially with consumables)

  • Storing food-grade materials separately from non-edibles (cleaning products, etc.)

Job Requirements

  • Education: Education Background in a related field of study with relevant work experience
