Job Description

KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU vehicle in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Quality Controller position.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning and implementing quality assurance activities including all types vehicle inspection, participate in the process of developing quality assurance and control policy, procedures and standards with the objective to maximum quality services and thereby ensuring satisfaction of customers.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with all concerned departments and work units to determine quality product and service standards as per ISUZU and customer requirements, and control its implementation upon its approval.

  • Maintain quality control in all areas including, materials, parts, repair/maintenance processes, labor, etc. to ensure that intended quality is achieved at all levels and thus the final product or service meets all quality standards and requirements.

  • Control incoming materials/parts by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

  • Control repair/maintenance processes by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the workshop controller.

  • Ensure quality job is done and material/parts are fixed right the first time.

  • Control and inspect all completed jobs in the workshop by confirming specifications and conducting required tests.

  • Carry out initial road test and final road test and give good judgment on vehicle performance (decision-making).

  • Return serviced vehicles for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work.

  • Follow up the processes of all types of vehicle inspections, to ensure that receipt, storage, and handing over vehicles to customers is carried out as per company procedures.

  • Supervise various quality assurance functions to ensure that the company’s quality standards are met at all times.

  • Document and update inspection and control results by completing reports and logs.

  • Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

  • Work with other colleagues and department to ensure seamless service for the customer.

  • Keep measurement equipment operating based on operating instructions and calling for repairs.

  • Control to maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations

  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data, as well as produce statistical reports.

  • Make sure the company is working as effective as possible to keep up with competitors’ quality assurance functions.

  • Prepare periodical report for submission to the Workshop Controller.

Job Requirements

Required Number  :  1(One) 

Qualification :  BSc Degree in Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering

Work Experience:  6 years in relevant role and 4th Grade or Dry Cargo 2 Driving License

Required Competence    : 

  • Communication – both verbal and written

  • Computer literate with good numeric skills

  • Computer skill, excellent written and oral communication skills, English language proficiency.

  • Proven knowledge and experience in quality assurance

  • Familiarity with ISUZU products and quality concepts and procedures

  • Quality and Customer service orientation
