In the framework of the RELIEF project, under the supervision of the Head of Base/Field Office, Programs Manager and Country Office Finance and Admin head, CIFA is looking for Driver in Dessie City with field trip to, Dessiè Zuriya, Worebabo, Argoba, Kutaber and Kallu Woredas of South Wollo Zone, Amhara Region.
CIFA is an international NGO with over 40 years of commitment in protecting the most vulnerable children and youth. Working in Ethiopia for over 20 years, CIFA supports the access to primary and secondary education, especially for girls; it fights against the worst forms of discrimination and supports women’s economic empowerment. With this approach, CIFA currently works in Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa City Administration, Amhara (South Wollo), Hareri and Oromia Region
The RELIEF project strengthens the humanitarian response in Ethiopia by ensuring safe access to integrated basic services and protection for vulnerable populations in five IDP camps and their respective host communities in South Wollo (Amhara).
Three-month contract with a 60-day probation period and the possibility of extension.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Driving the organization’s vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery of mail, documents and other items
keeping vehicle (s) under his/her responsibility in perfect conditions (tidy and clean)
Perform daily vehicle check-up of oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc.
Control of the periodic maintenance and report any problems requiring assistance/repair in order to execute the assigned duties with efficiency and safely
Driving carefully, follow local and state driving laws and road regulations
Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of the involvement in any kind of accident
Behave peacefully, don’t use alcohol or any other drugs
Adhere to CIFA ETS’ operating policies and procedures
Maintain driving log book, records of movements, prepare vehicle performance forms and complete daily paperwork
Don’t use the vehicle for other than project purpose, always with the approval of the supervisor
Be responsible of the vehicle’s key and ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe area, locked during working hours and parked in the office compound during off days and hours
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor as per project activities needs.
In addition to driving duties, the Driver & Logistics Assistant is expected to provide support in the logistical organization of project activities.
He/she will assist the project staff in the implementation of logistical
procedures such as transportation of materials, venue arrangements, minor procurement follow-up, and other field-based operational needs, ensuring efficient support to program delivery
Job Requirements
Experience
Certified on defensive driving training
At least 5 years of experiences in an international NGOs
Valid 3rd grade driving license
At least three years of experience as field driver
Experience with NGOs as well as international organizations
Good knowledge in logistics and minor vehicle repair
Flexibility and availability to work out of the working hours when requested and independently in stressful conditions
Active team player, able to work under pressure and to carry out tasks accurately with attention to detail and instructions, personal commitment, efficiency
Available to work effectively and harmoniously in an international team with different cultures and professional backgrounds.

The employee’s Gross Salary will be €166.37 [One hundred sixty six & 37 Euro Only] based on the salary scale of the Organization and will be paid at the end of each month to the employee’s bank account.
This gross salary included monthly transport allowance and pension fund as per the law of the Country and medical & life insurance as per the policy
