Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

Banquet Operations Management

• Oversee all banquet and event operations, including weddings, conferences, meetings, and social gatherings.
• Ensure smooth execution of events in line with client requirements, hotel standards, and brand guidelines.
• Coordinate with other departments (kitchen, housekeeping, front office, sales & marketing, AV/IT) to deliver flawless service.
• Supervise the setup and breakdown of banquet rooms, ensuring correct layouts, equipment, and décor.

Guest Service & Client Relations

• Act as the primary point of contact for event organizers and clients during banquets.
• Handle special requests, resolve service issues, and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Anticipate client needs and deliver personalized, high-quality experiences.

Staff Leadership & Training

• Recruit, train, and supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and supervisors.
• Create schedules and assign tasks to ensure sufficient coverage for all events.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and motivation for staff.
• Maintain high grooming, etiquette, and service standards within the banquet team.

Financial & Resource Management

• Assist in preparing the banquet department’s budget, forecasts, and revenue targets.
• Monitor food & beverage costs, labor costs, and departmental expenses.
• Implement upselling strategies and collaborate with the sales team to maximize banquet revenue.
• Ensure proper billing accuracy and timely closure of banquet event orders (BEOs).

Menu & Event Coordination

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B Manager to develop menus for banquets and special events.
• Ensure clear communication of menu requirements, dietary needs, and timelines between kitchen and banquet service staff.
• Supervise food and beverage presentation, service speed, and quality during events.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

• Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards in banquet halls, service areas, and storage rooms.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, fire safety, and occupational health requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, arranging maintenance as needed.

Reporting & Administration

• Maintain accurate records of banquet revenues, expenses, and client feedback.
• Prepare post-event reports to identify successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in departmental and inter-departmental meetings to coordinate future events.

 Job Requirements

Education and Experience

• Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, or Event Management.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in F&B/banquets, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial banquet role (hotel experience required).
• Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Proficiency in POS systems, banquet event order (BEO) management, PMS systems, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and

Skills and Attributes

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English and preferably one or more additional languages.
• Strong knowledge of banquet service standards, event coordination, and menu planning.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Strong client-facing, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple large-scale events simultaneously.
• High level of professionalism, grooming, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, weekends, nights, and public holidays as per event schedules.
