The Research Officer will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial, economic, and sectoral research to support Awash Capital’s investment and advisory services. The role involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to produce high-quality reports, forecasts, and insights that inform strategic decisions and product development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on financial markets and sectors

• Support the Head of Research in data collection and analysis

• Maintain databases and research archives

• Collect, analyze, and interpret economic, financial, and sector-specific data to support strategic planning

• Prepare research reports, investment briefs, and policy notes for internal and external use

• Support preparation of periodic research publications and outlooks.

• Maintain databases and research archives, ensuring data integrity and accessibility

• Support the Head of Research in designing research methodologies and frameworks

• Monitor developments in financial markets, regulatory environments, and macroeconomic indicators

• Contribute to the development of new financial products and services through evidence-based insights

• Present findings in clear, concise formats suitable for executive decision-making

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related field

• Professional certification a minimum of CISI Introduction to Investment (Level 3) qualification

• Minimum 3 years of research experience

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data

• Proficiency in statistical tools and financial modeling
