Job Description

The Business Development Officer will play a key role in expanding Awash Capital’s market presence and client base. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships, and supporting the development and promotion of investment products and services. The role requires a results-oriented professional with strong analytical, networking, and communication skills who can drive growth initiatives while ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, client needs, and competitive positioning

  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, partners, and institutional stakeholders

  • Prepare business proposals, pitch decks, and partnership frameworks tailored to target audiences

  • Support the implementation of business development campaigns and outreach initiatives

  • Track performance metrics related to client acquisition, revenue growth, and market penetration

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with operational capacity and strategic priorities

  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on business development activities and outcomes

  • Identify, analyze, and pursue business opportunities in investment banking and advisory services.

  • Develop and maintain strong client and partner relationships.

  • Support marketing and promotion of Awash Capital’s services and products.

  • Support Awash Capital’s brand presence

  • Conduct competitor analysis and provide market intelligence.

  • Prepare proposals, pitches, and presentations for prospective clients.

  • Collaborate with research and product development teams to meet client needs.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

  • Professional certification a minimum of CISI Introduction to Investment (Level 3) qualification

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic (Additional local language is a plus)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, marketing and sales.

  • Experience in financial services is an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge and skill in Microsoft products.

  • Strong understanding in design software’s (e.g Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop) is an advantage
