Job Description
Finnish Refugee Council (FRC) (www.refugeecouncil.fi) is an international non-governmental organisation with Head Office in Helsinki.
FRC advocates for the rights of refugees, displaced populations and migrants, and supports their new beginnings. By reinforcing equality and creating opportunities for everyone to lead a good life, FRC promotes the establishment of stable and peaceful societies.
Education forms the foundation of an equal society, and FRC´s activities in Ethiopia place emphasis on capacity building for the most vulnerable members of societies and supports their active participation within respective communities. At the core of FRC’s work is inclusion of vulnerable groups and therefore, special emphasis is placed on the protection of persons with disabilities, women and youth in all activities.
FRC was registered in Ethiopia and accorded legal status through Registry Number 4184 on 11th of June 2019 as a Foreign Organisation.
Finance Functions:
Handle petty cash payments
Prepare payment vouchers (cheque payment, cash payment & JV)
Prepare Cheques / transfers letters
Perform liaison duties with banks to process Transfers, collect bank statements & advices and other documents as required.
Incorporate all the necessary documents are collected, checked, and attached to payment vouchers before payment.
Support the Finance and Administration Coordinator in preparing monthly tax payments (Income, pension and withholding) to the relevant tax authorities.
Submit monthly purchase declarations to relevant authority
Keep filing systems in which documents are readily available, easily traced and ensure that all documents fulfill the appropriate source documentation.
Scan financial documents monthly for both Country Office & Field Offices & Make a soft copy backup file.
Ensure all financial documents are stamped with paid stamps.
Provide support in availing documents during an annual audit.
2). Administrative Functions:
Welcoming visitors and directing them to office
Facilitate plane ticket purchases
Facilitate training and workshop related activities
Assist the Finance and Administration Coordinator in the procurement functions.
3). Store management Functions:
Manage Country Office store
Manage Country Office stationaries & supplies
Update stock card (in & out) controlling
Perform any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Duration: Until 31 December 2025 with possible extension till the end of the maternity leave
Salary: Attractive and competitive FRC salary scale

Professional Standards:
FRC staff must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the FRC Code of Conduct.
A) EDUCATION/TRAINING
BA degree in Accounting and Finance, in Business Administration, in Business Management or any related fields
B). EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, in similar position in humanitarian or development organizations
C). COMPETENCIES
Previous experience with International NGOs;
Good communication and writing skills
Good written and spoken English language skills;
Good team spirit and respect for diversity;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office package.

Proactive and takes initiative
