Job Description
Since 1997, SWDA has empowered poor and vulnerable women, girls, and children in Oromia and beyond. With 28 years of impact, we create opportunities for women and girls to lead, thrive, and break the cycle of poverty. Now, we are expanding our team at our Addis Ababa head office.
Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Addis Ababa Head Office
Contract: 1-year (with possibility of extension based on performance)

Salary: Negotiable
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and internal audit policies.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and provide actionable insights for management.
Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Collaborate with other departments to support financial initiatives and process improvements.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
At least 5 year proven experience in a similar senior accounting role in NGO
Strong command of accounting principles and financial management
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
Proficient in accounting software
Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
