The Education Production (EdPro) Center is part of Shayashone’s growing commitment to advancing digital education in Ethiopia. Established within the ICT Park, the center was created to strengthen the development of high-quality digital resources that support both teaching and learning across different levels of education. With collaboration, innovation, and accessibility at its core, the center seeks to transform the future of education in Ethiopia and beyond.
Once fully established, the EdPro Center will specialize in producing high-quality educational content that supports online teaching and the development of localized as well as globally relevant digital courses. Alongside this, it plans to provide training and development in multimedia, instructional design, professional skills, and life skills for diverse groups of learners and educators. The center also envisions supplying advanced educational technologies, including devices, multimedia studios, satellite learning centers, and virtual learning tools. In addition, its research and consultancy services will focus on policy studies, sector analyses, accreditation support, and institutional advisory services, positioning the center as a forward-looking partner in the education sector.

The Graphic Designer plays a vital role in shaping the visual identity of the EdPro Center and enhancing the appeal and effectiveness of its educational products. By transforming complex ideas into engaging visuals, the designer ensures that the center’s content is not only informative but also accessible and attractive to diverse learners.
Core responsibilities cover producing graphics, infographics, and illustrations for digital courses and communications, ensuring all materials reflect the EdPro Center’s brand and values, working closely with videographers, instructional designers, and educators to integrate visuals into multimedia outputs, and Innovation & User Experience, applying design trends and accessibility principles to improve learning engagement.
In summary, the Graphic Designer ensures the EdPro Center’s content and communications stand out with creativity, professionalism, and learner-centered design.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Design & Content Development:

  • Create designs for educational content, digital platforms, and communication campaigns.

  • Develop infographics, icons, illustrations, and interactive visual aids for learning.

  • Adapt designs across print, digital, and video media.

Branding & Identity:

  • Ensure visual consistency with the center’s brand guidelines.

  • Contribute to the center’s evolving visual identity to meet changing audience needs.

  • Maintain a digital repository of design templates and assets.

Collaboration with Teams:

  • Work with videographers, instructional designers, and educators to integrate visuals into content.

  • Translate technical or complex educational content into visually accessible formats.

  • Respond to design feedback and make iterative improvements.

Technical Design Management:

  • Use professional design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.) to produce deliverables.

  • Ensure optimized design outputs for both print and digital publication.

  • Manage file formats, color standards, and resolution requirements.

Innovation & User Experience:

  • Research and apply best practices in user experience (UX) for educational design.

  • Experiment with emerging design trends and tools to strengthen SYS’s creative edge.

  • Support the integration of accessible design features for diverse audiences.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of professional design experience, preferably in education or non-profit sectors.

Expertise

  • Graphic design and illustration

  • Visual communication for education

  • Brand identity management

  • UX and accessible design

  • Digital and print publishing
