The Education Production (EdPro) Center, located in Ethiopia’s ICT Park, is part of SYS’s commitment to advancing digital education. The center develops high-quality, inclusive digital learning resources and localized online courses while providing training in multimedia, instructional design, and professional skills. It also supplies advanced educational technologies and offers research and consultancy services, positioning itself as a key partner in transforming education in Ethiopia and beyond.

Short Description of the Position

The Education Production Center Manager provides strategic leadership to guide the center’s vision and ensure its alignment with Shayashone’s broader organizational goals. The role oversees the production of high-quality educational content, establishes robust quality assurance systems, and ensures inclusivity and technical accuracy. The manager supervises daily operations, leads multidisciplinary teams, drives innovation through EdTech integration, and develops strong partnerships with government, academia, and donors. In addition, the role plays a central part in business development, securing resources, and positioning the EdPro Center as a leader in education production and digital learning solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Alignment

  • Develop and implement the center’s strategic vision in alignment with SYS’s overall goals.

  • Conduct periodic strategy reviews to adapt to evolving education and technology trends.

  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable annual and quarterly work plans with measurable targets.

Content Production & Quality Assurance

  • Lead the design, development, and review of educational content.

  • Establish and oversee content quality control systems to ensure inclusivity, relevance, and accuracy.

  • Integrate gender, disability, and linguistic inclusion standards into all educational products.

  • Research emerging digital education technologies and integrate innovative tools into content production.

Project & Workflow Management

  • Supervise day-to-day operations, assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and monitoring performance.

  • Ensure projects adhere to budgets, timelines, and deliverables, escalating risks where necessary.

  • Introduce workflow automation tools to improve efficiency and accountability.

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify new markets, service areas, and clients to expand the center’s portfolio.

  • Lead fundraising and proposal writing for donors, development agencies, and corporates.

  • Represent SYS in external forums, building and maintaining relationships with government, academia, and international partners.

Innovation & Capacity Building

  • Build a culture of creativity and innovation in education production.

  • Organize continuous staff training in instructional design, media production, and digital learning.

  • Benchmark practices against international standards to ensure SYS remains a leader in education production.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Media Production, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in education or digital content development.

  • Proven expertise in:

    • Strategic leadership and planning

    • Educational content design & quality assurance

    • EdTech integration and innovation

    • Donor engagement and proposal writing

    • Business development & partnerships

Skills

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

  • Excellent project and time management skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • High digital literacy and familiarity with LMS/EdTech tools

  • Ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams
