Green Scene Energy PLC is a renewable energy company based in Ethiopia, specializing in solar energy solutions and clean cooking technologies. We are committed to providing sustainable energy solutions that address climate challenges in Africa.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Sales Associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will focus on promoting and selling our solar backup systems and induction stoves to both residential and commercial customers. This role requires strong communication skills, a customer-centric approach, and a passion for renewable energy solutions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in expanding our market presence and contributing to our mission of providing sustainable energy solutions across Ethiopia.

  Duties & Responsibilities:

  Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new leads and convert prospects into customers for both solar backup systems and induction stoves

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for both product lines

  • Conduct product demonstrations at customer locations, trade shows, and community events

  • Prepare and present sales proposals tailored to customer needs

  • Follow up with potential customers and maintain regular communication

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities between product lines

  • Collect and report market intelligence on competitor activities and pricing

  Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide product information

  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions

  • Address customer concerns and coordinate with technical teams when necessary

  • Gather customer feedback to improve products and services

  • Maintain accurate customer records in the company's CRM syste

  Product Knowledge & Education 

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of solar backup systems (averae value high-value products at ~700,000 ETB) and their applications

  • Become an expert on induction stove features, benefits, and advantages over traditional cooking methods (average value ~7000 ETB)

  • Stay informed about product updates, new features, and pricing changes

  • Educate customers on the environmental and economic benefits of our products

  • Explain technical specifications in simple, accessible language

  • Create and deliver educational content for potential customers

  Sales Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate sales records and documentation

  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports

  • Track sales pipeline and forecast future sales

  • Coordinate with logistics and installation teams for product delivery

  • Process sales orders and ensure proper documentation

  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs

  Qualifications  

   Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or related field

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in sales, preferably in consumer products or technical solutions

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus but not required

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems or willingness to learn

  Required Skills  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms

  • Customer-oriented approach and excellent listening skills

  • Basic numeracy and ability to calculate costs and savings for customers

  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and persistence

  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, and CRM systems)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Amharic highly desirable

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience with solar products or household appliances

  • Understanding of Ethiopian energy challenges and customer needs

  • Experience with consultative selling approaches

  • Familiarity with demonstration techniques and public speaking

  • Knowledge of social media marketing and digital selling tools

Compensation Structure

  • Base Salary: 10,000 ETB gross monthly

  • Performance Commission: Variable up to 140,000 ETB based on achievement of sales targets.
