An HR Business Partner must possess deep business acumen; they must understand a company and its challenges to help address the organization and talent needs. An HR Business Partner must be able to work at all levels of the HR strategic, operational, and tactical, influence effectively across all levels of a company, and navigate through ambiguity, recognizing when it is appropriate to introduce more structure and process without derailing current production.

The HRBP will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and controlling the activities and actions of the HR unit. This individual will coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, source potential candidates, manage and update employees' HR master data, liaise with the Finance team on payroll input delivery, manage leaves, support compensation and benefit revision, perform employee relation activities, design and deliver learning experiences, lead staff engagement, manage staffing and succession planning, and advise management on HR matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Planning, Organizing, and Controlling HR Activities:

    • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and determine selection criteria.

    • Source potential candidates through online channels.

    • Plan interview and selection procedures.

    • Assess candidate information using the applicant’s tracking system.

    • Design job descriptions and interview questions with hiring managers.

  2. HR Master Data Management:

    • Manage and update employees' HR master data in both hard and soft copy through applicable HRIS.

    • Liaise with the Finance team on monthly payroll input delivery and HR movement.

  3. Leave Management:

    • Manage leaves of employees and record annual leave balance.

  4. Compensation and Benefits:

    • Support compensation and benefit revision as required.

  5. Employee Relations:

    • Perform employee relation activities for staff requests.

  6. Learning and Development:

    • Design and deliver learning experiences to develop leadership, behavioral, and technical skills.

  7. Staff Engagement:

    • Take the lead for staff engagement and communication of key HR initiatives.

  8. Performance Management:

    • Manage and lead performance management systems.

  9. Advisory Role:

    • Advise, challenge, and support management on HR and related matters.

Authority:

  • Check and validate recruitment requests.

  • Review, comment, and approve recruitment and staff movement reports.

  • Propose salaries as per the company’s salary guideline.

Job Requirements

Candidate Profile:
Education & Experience:

  • BA Degree in Business Management / Administrative Service Management.

  • At least 5 years’ experience.

  • Certification in Talent Management or other HR fields is an advantage.

General Competencies:

  • Communication, Problem Solving, Team Player, Multitasking, Organization, and Planning.

Languages:

  • Professional speaker in English and Amharic required.

Other Ethiopian languages are advantageous
