We’re looking for a Communications Officer who will bring the vibrant spirit of our international  school community to life through compelling digital content, multimedia storytelling, and impactful  public relations. This is your opportunity to play a central role in sharing the ICS story with the world. 

Key Responsibilities 

As our Communications Officer, you will: 

• Create engaging, on-brand content for newsletters, social media, web, and marketing materials. 

• Lead the social media strategy, scheduling, engagement, and performance analysis. • Collaborate with a talented media team to produce photo, video, and visual stories that  highlight school life and impact. 

• Coordinate internal communications to keep students, families, and staff informed and  inspired. 

• Support major events and campaigns ( from concept to coverage). 

• Be the voice of ICS during both celebratory moments and times of crisis, delivering clear  and consistent messaging. 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience 

• Degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or a related field. 

•  5+ years of experience in a communications role, ideally within an educational or  international setting. 

• Proven track record in creating content for newsletters, websites, social media, press  releases, and internal communication in English  supported by a strong writing portfolio. 

• Experience managing communication during crisis situations. 

• Familiarity with digital tools and platforms: social media management systems, CMS,  analytics tools, etc. 

• Ability to interpret data and analytics to improve engagement and reach. 

Preferred Experience 

• Understanding of IB programs or international school culture. 

• Fluency in Amharic or another local/community language. 

• Passion for photography, visual design, or digital storytelling.
