The Mid-Level Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial standards, and support financial planning and decision-making. This role requires hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, and the use of Peachtree accounting software. The accountant will also play a role in mentoring junior staff and strengthening internal financial systems. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting 

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. 

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 

• Ensure timely posting and accuracy of accounting entries. 

2. Accounts & Cash Management 

• Manage accounts receivable and payable cycles. 

• Oversee bank reconciliations and petty cash management. 

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes. 

3. Compliance & Internal Controls 

• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations. 

• Support internal and external audit processes. 

• Implement effective internal control measures. 

4. Team & Process Support 

• Provide guidance and support to junior accountants. 

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operation

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. 

• 3–5 years of professional accounting experience. 

• Proficiency in Peachtree and other accounting software. 

• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance. 

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 

• Strong communication skills in English; Amharic is an advantage. 

• Ability to work independently while supporting and mentoring junior staff
