The Accountant plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of Top Beverages Industries and Trading, with a strong emphasis on managing bank credit relationships to secure favorable financing for manufacturing activities. The role ensures compliance with organizational policies, statutory regulations, and banking requirements while maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reliable reports, and supporting strategic decision-making to drive the company’s success.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Bank Credit Relation Management

  • Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure and manage credit facilities, lines of credit, and loans critical for manufacturing operations, including working capital for raw materials, inventory, and equipment purchases.

  • Prepare and submit comprehensive credit applications, including detailed financial statements, cash flow projections, and supporting documentation to secure bank approvals.

  • Negotiate favorable terms for credit agreements, including interest rates, repayment schedules, and covenants, to optimize financial costs and support liquidity needs.

  • Monitor compliance with bank covenants, credit limits, and repayment obligations, ensuring timely renewals, adjustments, and accurate reporting to avoid penalties.

  • Analyze credit utilization, prepare reports on credit performance (e.g., interest expenses, repayment schedules), and assess impacts on cash flow and financial strategy.

  • Collaborate with management to align credit strategies with business objectives, such as expansion or operational scaling in the beverage industry.

  • Resolve disputes with banks regarding credit terms or transactions, maintaining accurate and transparent documentation of all credit-related activities.

  • Stay informed on Ethiopian banking regulations, credit market trends, and financing opportunities to enhance the company’s financial position in the manufacturing sector.

2. Financial Management and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate cashbooks and accounts records, ensuring all payments are correctly allocated to appropriate budget lines.

  • Collect, verify, and attach necessary documentation to payment vouchers for transparency and accountability.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with company requirements and manufacturing industry standards.

  • Ensure proper coding, posting, and reconciliation of all financial transactions, aligning with approved budgets and credit-related accounts.

  • Produce monthly expenditure reports to track financial and credit performance.

  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank, cash, and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.

  • Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis reports to management.

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial reports with supporting documentation.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in developing annual budgets and project-specific budgets for manufacturing operations, incorporating credit financing needs.

  • Track expenditures against approved budgets, including credit-funded projects, and alert management to potential overruns.

  • Participate in financial planning and forecasting to support strategic objectives, factoring in credit obligations and financing costs.

4. Compliance and Internal Controls

  • Ensure all accounting and credit management processes comply with Top Beverages Industries and Trading’s financial policies, Ethiopian statutory regulations, and banking requirements.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation (including credit agreements), and addressing audit queries.

  • Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial and credit integrity.

5. Treasury and Cash Management

  • Oversee cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational, manufacturing, and credit repayment needs.

  • Manage petty cash, ensuring timely replenishment and accurate reconciliation.

  • Prepare fund transfer requests and maintain effective banking relationships to support cash and credit operations.

6. Payroll and Statutory Compliance

  • Review and process payroll in collaboration with the HR department.

  • Ensure timely payment of taxes, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions in compliance with Ethiopian laws.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee compensation records.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Educational Level: Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Accounting and Finance or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting within manufacturing industries, with at least 3 years of demonstrated experience in managing bank credit relationships (e.g., securing loans, negotiating terms, and ensuring compliance with banking agreements).

  • Skills:

    • Expertise in financial management, budgeting, reporting, and bank credit management in a manufacturing context.

    • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and financial modeling for credit analysis and forecasting.

    • Strong analytical skills for variance analysis, credit risk assessment, and financial strategy development.

    • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills to manage bank relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

    • In-depth knowledge of Ethiopian banking regulations, credit market trends, and statutory compliance requirements.

  • Salary: As per company scale.
