SAH is seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Supply chain coordinator (Pharmaceutical) to oversee and manage our technical operations, including logistics, delivery, store management, compliance and procurement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all processes comply with relevant regulations and company standards, while driving efficiency and continuous improvement across the supply chain. You will play a critical role in managing our pharmaceutical and medical device inventory, coordinating import and customs clearance, and leading a dedicated team logistics and store team.

Key Duties and Deliverables

Store and Inventory Management

  • Oversee all store operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing pharmaceuticals and medical devices in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and EFDA guidelines.

  • Manage and train store personnel, ensuring they maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular physical counts, and manage product returns effectively.

  • Ensure proper control of storeroom and refrigerator temperatures and humidity.

  • Develop and implement an annual inventory management plan to maintain optimal stock levels and accuracy.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management

  • Lead the entire import process for pharmaceutical goods, ensuring full compliance with bank, customs, and EFDA regulations.

  • Manage all import documentation, including foreign currency applications and customs clearance.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.

  • Implement and manage logistics systems and technologies to improve efficiency and data accuracy.

Procurement and Compliance

  • Make strategic procurement decisions to meet quality and delivery requirements.

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast product needs and manage supplier relationships, including negotiating service agreements.

  • Ensure all operations and documentation are compliant with EFDA regulations, manage regulatory inspections, and oversee the annual renewal of compliance licenses.

  • Act as a substitute for the Regulatory Manager when required.

Operational and Team Leadership

  • Provide technical and operational direction for all supply chain and procurement processes, ensuring they remain within budget.

  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve operational goals.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the logistics and store teams to foster a culture of success and professional growth.

  • Support the implementation of SOPs and quality management practices across all functions.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and submit regular, detailed reports on logistics, supply chain, store, and compliance activities to senior management.

  • Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategic solutions.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in pharmacy is mandatory.

  • A certification, diploma, or bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is highly desirable.

  • Minimum of 3.5 years of experience in technical management, supply chain, or logistics role within the pharmaceutical or medical device import sector. 

     Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and management skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and industry-specific regulations.

  • Proficiency in Amharic and English; additional languages are a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a collaborative team environment.
