Salary: As per NEWA’s salary scale
Reporting to: Finance and Admin Manager
Contract Duration: 12 Months (with possibility of extension)

Organizational Background
The Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations (NEWA) is a non-partisan, non-governmental network organization established in 2003, and currently NEWA has 50 -member local organizations and associations seeking to create a stronger advocacy voice for women’s advancement. NEWA has a twofold goal: synchronizing the individual activities of women’s associations into an integrated collective effort and synergy to realize their common aspirations for gender equality; and launching a vigorous public campaign of promotion, advocacy, and lobbying for women’s rights.
The Finance Head will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the Finance Department in line with NEWA’s policies and procedures, ensuring sound financial management and accountability across all projects.
Manage the financial activities of NEWA projects and ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
Prepare and submit accurate financial statements and accounting reports of the Association.
Coordinate and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual expenditure and financial reports, including accounts receivable and payable documents, and prepare monthly aging reports for the Finance and Admin Manager.
Record subsequent period settlements and regularly follow up on outcomes.
Review financial records, procedures, and systems of sub-grantees and subcontractors.
Manage the budgetary and forward-planning systems and prepare annual, quarterly, and ad-hoc budgets.
Produce monthly financial reports and variance analyses for each program.
Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and supporting documents, maintaining up-to-date financial records in line with NEWA’s policies and internal control standards.
Oversee stock and inventory management functions.
Regularly monitor and provide technical support to grantees/sub-grantees, ensuring that project and administrative costs align with agreements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Accountability
Supervision: Works independently under the guidance of the Finance and Admin Manager, following policy guidelines.
Decision Making: Makes significant decisions within the scope of work and delegated authority.
Responsibility for Data/Information: High level of responsibility for financial data accuracy and integrity.
Responsibility for Assets: Responsible for organizational assets, including computers, printers, office furniture, and stationery.
Responsibility for Staff: Provides support and guidance to finance staff and other related personnel.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably within NGOs or network organizations.
Demonstrated competence in project accounting and financial management.
Skills and Competencies

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
