Sequa gGmbH is a globally operating non-profit development organisation. Since 1991 sequa has carried out programmes and projects of international cooperation in close collaboration with the German private sector. sequa offers know-how and long-term experience in capacity development for chambers and associations (BMOs), vocational education and training, private sector development and trade promotion. The organisation is based in Bonn, Germany. sequa employs more than 100 persons (2023) and reported a turnover of EUR 60 m in 2023.

We are offering a project-based assignment as 

Go-to-Market & Marketing Advisor (ERP & Web3 Focus) 

Location:                              Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 

Assignment Period:             November 3, 2025 – January 31, 2026

The Project

Within the GIZ Program Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition", sequa implements the "SME Support Scheme targeting growth orientated SMEs" project in Ethiopia. With this, sequa aims to facilitate business growth and job creation of Ethiopian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by increasing their competitiveness and productivity so that their products and services will satisfy the demand on local and international markets. A specific focus will be provided for women-owned SMEs, job-creation, and employability training for women. 

Benefiting companies receive flexible and demand-oriented funding (management consulting, technical training, financial competence/business plan development, qualification, applied research activities, etc.). A special focus will be on advisory services to improve access to finance. The support scheme is expected to contribute to the change management and business growth of SMEs.

sequa has selected Marakisoft Technologies PLC through vetting process. The company activities are focused on providing locally developed ERP solutions tailored to the needs of Ethiopian businesses. Specializing in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Marakisoft's flagship product, MarakiERP, offers comprehensive modules designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and control, MarakiERP serves over 5,000 businesses across sectors such as retail, manufacturing, construction, and finance. The company also offers MarakiPOS, a point-of sale system compliant with Ethiopian tax regulations, facilitating seamless sales and inventory management.

Marakisoft is scaling its cloud ERP solution and launching an integrated lending platform powered by blockchain and dynamic credit scoring. These innovations will expand access to finance for SMEs in Ethiopia and beyond while creating transparency and efficiency in business operations.

The main objective of the requested consultancy service is to design and execute a go-to-market strategy that bridges traditional ERP adoption and Web3 user engagement.

Your Tasks / Responsibilities                                                                                            

Marketing Gap Assessment

  • Conduct a review of Marakisoft’s current marketing activities (branding, customer acquisition, digital presence, sales funnels),

  • Identify gaps, weaknesses, and missed opportunities in reaching SME customers,

  • Provide a prioritized roadmap for short-term fixes and long-term marketing development.

Market & Customer Acquisition Strategy

  • Design a tailored go-to-market plan for SaaS ERP, focusing on SME adoption and partner channels,

  • Identify scalable distribution models and partnerships (banks, resellers, universities).

Brand Positioning & Messaging

  • Develop clear value propositions for ERP and SME lending offerings,

  • Refine messaging for SMEs, partners, and investor communities.

Partnerships & Channels

  • Identify and structure partnerships with banks, fintechs, universities, and developer communities,

  • Recommend frameworks for affiliate, reseller, or ecosystem partnerships.

Capacity Building & Knowledge Transfer

  • Mentor the Marakisoft marketing team on campaign execution and analytics,

  • Provide templates, playbooks and monitoring tools for ongoing execution.

Job Requirements

Your Qualification / Skills

  • The consultant team should at least have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related fields (MBA is an advantage),

  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute go-to-market strategies in African or emerging markets,

  • Strong expertise in channel development and partnerships (banks, fintechs, resellers, universities),

  • Ability to work comfortably and handle pressure, 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Your Working Experience

  • 7+ year experiences in software marketing, B2B customer acquisition, digital adoption, or enterprise software adoption, 

  • Familiarity with blockchain/Web3 ecosystems is a plus but not mandatory,

  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
