The Finance and Accounting Head is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the organization. This includes journal entries, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, financial reconciliations, and reporting. The role ensures compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards, supports budget development and monitoring, and provides accurate financial analysis for decision-making. The manager also leads the adoption of financial technology systems to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of financial information across the organization.

In addition, the Finance and Accounting Head may be required to work on-site at coffee processing/washing sites, providing direct oversight of financial activities, monitoring expenses, and ensuring proper financial control and accountability at the site level.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash receipts, and credit transactions.

• Prepare and post accurate month-end journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.

• Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition in line with accounting standards.

• Monitor cash flow, balances, and prepare cash forecasts.

• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP, federal, and state financial regulations.

• Support the Director of Finance and department heads in budget preparation, monitoring, and monthly financial reporting.

• Lead fiscal year-end close processes and coordinate with external auditors.

• Identify and implement process improvements using financial systems and technology; train staff on new tools.

• Handle selected administrative finance functions.

• Conduct site visits to coffee processing/washing sites to monitor project financial activities.

• Review and verify expenses related to raw coffee purchases, labor, transport, maintenance, and other operational costs.

• Ensure that all site-level financial transactions are properly documented and reported to the CEO.

• Work closely with site supervisors to strengthen budget control, cost tracking, and inventory accountability (e.g., coffee stock, spare parts, etc.).

• Verify supplier invoices and local payments at the washing site, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Provide on-site support and training for site cashiers on accurate record-keeping and reporting.

• Communicate regularly with immediate supervisor (CEO) and provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

• Perform other related duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting and financial software.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Willingness and ability to travel to coffee processing/washing sites when required.
