Klaver Flowers PLC (KLF) is a flower farm producing Gypsophila variety for the world market. The farm site is located in Hawassa, 260 km south of Addis Ababa, at Wondo Tika beside the New International Airport. The Company started its operation in 2013 & has been expanding ever since. In its 100 hectarage, KLF currently has more than 2000 employees.

We are looking for a dynamic Field Department Head with hands-on expertise in managing large scale flower production operations. The successful candidate will oversee all field-related activities from land preparation to post-harvest field tasks — ensuring optimal plant health, productivity, and quality

Position: Field Department Head

Number of Vacancies   :1

Language    : Good spoken and written English language & Sidamigna

Language is also advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all field operations related to flower production.

• Oversee bed preparation, planting, pinching, selection, pruning, and other agronomic practices.

• Monitor plant health, growth, and field hygiene to ensure consistent flower quality.

• Develop and implement best practices for crop management and field labor.

• Supervise and train field workers, team leaders, and supervisors.

• Collaborate with irrigation, pest management, and post-harvest departments for integrated production planning.

• Prepare and manage field work schedules in alignment with production and export timelines.

• Maintain records of field operations, inputs usage, and labor.

• Ensure adherence to workplace safety, environmental, and labor regulations.

Conditions of Employment     : 60 days probation period & will become permanent based on performance evaluation result during the probation period.

Job Requirements

Educational Background  

•  BSc degree in Horticulture or Plant Science.

Experience  

• :Minimum of 2 years of experience in Field management,             

• preferably in the flower industry.

•  Strong leadership and team management skills.

Language                               

•   Good spoken and written English language & Sidamigna Language is also advantageous.
