The farm site is located in Hawassa, 260 km south of Addis Ababa, at Wondo Tika beside the New International Airport. The Company started its operation in 2013 & has been expanding ever since. In its 100 hectarage, KLF currently has more than 2000 employees

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Post Harvest Manager to join our team at Klaver Flowers PLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all post-harvest operations, ensuring the quality and freshness of our flowers from harvest to delivery.

Position: Post Harvest Manager

Language    : Good spoken and written English language & Sidamigna

Language is also advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the post-harvest handling processes, including grading, packing, and cooling of flowers.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and industry best practices.

• Coordinate with the production team to optimize harvesting schedules and techniques.

• Implement and maintain proper storage conditions to preserve flower quality.

• Train and mentor staff on post-harvest handling procedures.

• Monitor and report on post-harvest losses and implement corrective actions.

• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to meet customer demands and delivery schedules.

• Conduct regular audits of post-harvest operations to identify areas for improvement.

• Develop and implement post-harvest protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Oversee the maintenance and sanitation of post-harvest facilities and equipment.

• Analyze post-harvest data and generate reports to inform decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

• Develop and manage the post-harvest budget, including cost control measures.

Conditions of Employment : 60 days probation period & will become permanent based on performance evaluation result during the probation period.

Job Requirements

Educational Background 

• BSc degree in Horticulture or Plant Science.

Experience 

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in post-harvest management,             

• preferably in the flower industry.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
