The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dima

Placer Gold Mine site, ensuring safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance,

and team performance. The role requires hands-on management of field activities

related to placer gold exploration, production, and site infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise day-to-day mining operations, ensuring safe, timely, and

cost-effective production.

• Lead and coordinate teams of geologists, mining engineers, operators, mechanics,

and support staff.

• Develop and implement operational plans, including mining schedules and

equipment deployment.

• Prepare and submit site budget and ensure operation cost is within budget.

• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company

policies.

• Monitor and report production data, resource use, equipment performance, and

workforce metrics.

• Liaise with head office, government authorities, local communities, and service

providers.

• Identify operational bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement efforts.

• Supervise maintenance of site infrastructure, equipment, and camp facilities.

• Oversee logistics, procurement, and stock management on-site.

• Ensure proper record-keeping, reporting, and documentation for audits and

inspections.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• BSc or MSc in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a

managerial or supervisory role at a placer or alluvial gold project.

• Strong knowledge of placer gold mining techniques and equipment (wash plants,

excavators, pumps, etc.).

• Proven experience managing remote field operations and multidisciplinary teams.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership, team coordination, and conflict resolution skills.

• Excellent knowledge of mining safety regulations and environmental standards.

• Good understanding of budgeting, cost control, and logistics.

• Ability to work under pressure in remote field conditions.

• Strong communication skills (Amharic & English; knowledge of local languages is an

advantage).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and mining-related software (e.g., MinePlan, Surpac,

GIS, etc.).

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to stay in remote mining camps for extended periods.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate in field conditions
