Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our supermarket. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth store performance, managing staff, maximizing customer satisfaction, and driving profitability through effective planning, resource management, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the supermarket, ensuring efficiency and excellent customer service.

  • Manage department heads (e.g., supermarket produce, meat, bakery) and ensure all areas are functioning optimally.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock.

  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with company and legal requirements.

  • Handle staffing needs, including scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.

  • Monitor store budgets, expenses, and financial performance.

  • Ensure merchandising, product display, and promotional strategies are properly executed.

  • Analyze sales trends, customer feedback, and performance reports to improve operations.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team for local store promotions and events.

  • Ensure POS systems and cash management procedures are functioning correctly.

  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of satisfaction.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of proven experience in supermarket or retail operations management.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs and financial principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems.

  • Knowledge of inventory control, supply chain, and merchandising.
