Support supply chain and logistics management activities by safely and efficiently and timely transporting goods and materials from one location to another through safe driving practices and behaviors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial trucks, such as truck-trailers, delivery trucks, or tankers, in a safe and responsible manner.

•  Follow all traffic laws and regulations, including speed limits, weight restrictions, and hours of service regulations.

•   Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.

• Properly load and secure cargo onto the truck, ensuring it is balanced and protected during transportation.

•  Unload cargo at the destination, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.

•   Verify the accuracy of shipping documents and ensure the proper handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.

• Plan the most efficient and safe routes to reach the destination, considering factors such as traffic, road conditions, and delivery schedules.

• Use GPS systems, maps, and other navigation tools to navigate unfamiliar routes.

• Adapt to changes in routes or schedules due to unforeseen circumstances, such as traffic congestion or weather conditions.

• Comply with all applicable transportation laws, regulations, and requirements, including those related to hours of service, vehicle inspections, and cargo securement.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including logbooks, trip sheets, and fuel receipts.

•  Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and maintenance schedules.

• Interact professionally and courteously with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

• Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, coordinators, and other team members to provide updates on delivery status and any issues encountered.

• Perform routine maintenance checks on the truck, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes.

• Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions immediately and follow the appropriate procedures for repair or replacement.

• Keep the truck clean and presentable, both inside and outside.

Job Requirements

• The position requires high School completion with valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the type of truck being operated.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial truck driving with a reputed commercial organization Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.

• Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in the same or similar industry.

• Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safety practices applicable to commercial trucking.

• Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to read and interpret maps, GPS systems, and other navigation tools.

• Physical stamina and strength to safely load and unload cargo.

• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.

• Ability to work independently and handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.

• Flexibility regarding working hours and schedules, as truck drivers may be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays.
