Duties & Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Receive, store, and organize goods in the store or warehouse.
Maintain accurate stock records and ensure proper labeling and identification of items.
Monitor stock levels and report on low stock, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
Keep track of items’ expiry dates (for perishable goods) and ensure that stock is rotated (FIFO – First In, First Out).
Conduct regular physical inventory counts (e.g., cycle counting or full inventory audits).
Issuing and Distribution of Goods:
Issue materials, equipment, or goods to employees, departments, or customers as required.
Prepare orders for dispatch or internal use based on requisitions and maintain proper records of all issued goods.
Ensure proper handling and packaging of goods for distribution to prevent damage during transit.
Stock Replenishment:
Monitor stock usage and initiate reordering processes to maintain inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
Coordinate with purchasing or procurement departments to order new stock as needed.
Assist in the tracking of back-ordered items and ensure timely delivery of new stock.
Storage and Organization:
Ensure that all items are stored in designated areas in an organized and safe manner.
Implement effective storage systems to maximize available space and improve stock accessibility.
Ensure that proper safety and security measures are in place to protect inventory from damage, theft, or loss.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of stock receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
Prepare reports on inventory status, stock levels, and usage for management review.
Complete necessary documentation, such as delivery receipts, inventory reports, and requisition forms.
Quality Control and Inspection:
Inspect incoming goods for quality and quantity, ensuring that products match the order specifications.
Report any damaged or defective goods to the appropriate personnel (e.g., suppliers or quality control teams).
Ensure that goods meet safety and regulatory standards. Health and Safety:
Ensure that the store or warehouse is clean, well-organized, and free from hazards.
Follow safety protocols and ensure that others do the same.
Ensure the proper handling of hazardous materials or goods (if applicable) in accordance with safety regulations.
Coordination and Communication:
Communicate effectively with other departments, such as procurement, maintenance, and production teams, to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with managers to track inventory needs and ensure proper planning for future requirements.
Perform other job-related duties as required by the company
Job Requirements
High School Diploma (Minimum):
A high school diploma or equivalent is typically the minimum educational requirement for this role.
Basic proficiency in mathematics and literacy is necessary for record-keeping, tracking inventory, and reporting.
Vocational or Technical Training level-3 or 4 (Optional but Beneficial):
Additional certifications or training in inventory management,
logistics, or warehouse operations can be advantageous.
Courses in supply chain management, warehouse management, or stock control may also be beneficial for
enhancing professional skills.

Ability to organize and manage stock efficiently, ensuring easy access and accurate tracking.
Strong time management skills to handle tasks such as stocktaking, reporting, and order fulfillment in a timely manner.
Attention to Detail:
High attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory tracking, stock movement, and reporting.
Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
Inventory Management:
Basic understanding of inventory control principles and processes, including stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO), order tracking, and reporting.
Familiarity with inventory software or tools, and the ability to maintain accurate records of stock levels and transactions.
Physical Stamina and Manual Dexterity:
Physical capability to handle, move, and store inventory items, which may include heavy or bulky materials.
Ability to lift, carry, and organize items effectively and safely.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers, store managers, and other team members.
Ability to report issues or discrepancies clearly to higher management.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to quickly identify and resolve stock-related issues, such as discrepancies or damaged goods.
Proactive approach in identifying inventory trends and addressing potential stockouts or overstock situations.
Health and Safety Awareness:
Knowledge of basic health and safety regulations and practices, ensuring that the work environment remains safe for employees and inventory.
Ability to follow safety protocols when handling goods, particularly hazardous or perishable items.
Basic Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills are necessary, including familiarity with software for inventory tracking, spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and email communication.
Knowledge of barcode scanners and other inventory
management tools can be beneficial.
Additional Certifications (Optional):
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar certifications from recognized organizations like APICS may be beneficial for advanced roles.
Forklift Operation Certification (if required for handling materials and equipment).
Health and Safety Training or certification (especially in
environments dealing with hazardous materials).
2 years of experience in storekeeping, warehouse management, or stock control.
Experience in handling and storing goods, organizing inventories, and preparing stock reports.
Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., ERP software, WMS).
Experience in supervising or coordinating the work of other store staff may be required for more senior store keeper positions.
Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supplies Management, Procurement or Supply Chain Management or in a related field of study with relevant work experience
