Nazava Trading PLC is a social enterprise and a sister company of Shayashone PLC, established to provide safe and affordable drinking water in Ethiopia. Nazava offers high-quality water filters that allow households to access safe drinking water without boiling or electricity. Its filters are WHO and FMHACA certified, and each can purify up to 7,000 liters of water, providing safe water for families over several years.

The Sales and Marketing Officer will lead Nazava’s market development, sales initiatives, marketing campaigns, customer engagement, and partnership-building efforts. The role requires a proactive, flexible, and results-oriented individual who can identify new opportunities, expand distribution channels, and ensure customer satisfaction while contributing to Nazava’s mission.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Market Development:

• Identify and develop new market channels and sales opportunities.

• Conduct market analysis to understand customer needs, preferences, and trends.

• Plan and implement marketing campaigns and promotional activities.

• Support brand visibility and positioning through marketing initiatives.

• Gather customer insights and competitor intelligence to inform marketing strategies.

Sales Management:

• Lead B2B and B2C sales initiatives to achieve monthly and annual targets.

• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, distributors, and institutional buyers.

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with partners and customers.

• Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.

Customer Service:

• Oversee customer support and after-sales services to ensure client satisfaction.

• Track customer satisfaction and coordinate timely feedback resolution.

• Maintain long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat business.

Channel Management:

• Develop and expand distribution channels such as retailers, supermarkets, and institutional buyers.

• Conduct product training and sensitization sessions for resellers and partners.

• Strengthen existing sales networks and identify new channel partners to increase coverage.

Partnership Development:

• Mobilize strategic partnerships with NGOs, microfinance institutions, and development organizations.

• Collaborate with stakeholders including Bureaus of Health, Water Utilities, and government bodies.

• Support proposals and joint initiatives that promote Nazava’s mission and market reach.

Position and Duty Location
The Sales and Marketing Officer will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with frequent travel across the country.

Job Requirements

• Education:

  •  BA in Marketing Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Experience:

  •  Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development.

• Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of the Ethiopian market, particularly rural areas and private sector dynamics.

  • Strong communication and writing skills in Amharic and English; Oromifa is an advantage.

  • Excellent networking skills and familiarity with Ethiopian governmental offices.

  • Proactive, flexible, and a team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in the WASH sector and project management is a plus.
