The Field Agronomist will oversee and manage all aspects of vegetable crop production, ensuring optimal yield, quality, and sustainability. This role involves planning, implementing, and monitoring agronomic practices, coordinating field activities, and providing regular updates to the Farm Manager.
Management of production workers in the production field
Sound leadership and direction in the production areas ensure the quality of the product, accuracy, and consistency of growth.
Building and implementing best practice policies and principles.
Develop and train a production team to maintain efficiency.
Ensure profitable and economic use of resources.
Enforce and ensure high standards of sanitation, good agricultural practice, and health and safety practices through the implementation of the GLOBAL G.A.P. standard.
Manage the movement of people around the working areas.
Monitor crop growth stages and adjust practices to optimize yield.
Manage pest and disease scouting and implement the designed fertilization and pest control protocols.
Maintain accurate records of inputs, yields, and field activities.
Prepare regular reports on crop performance, challenges, and recommendations.
Supervise production team leaders
Manage the movement of materials inside the production field.
Review customers' specifications, applicable requirements, and work accordingly
Report as required to managers.
Perform other related activities whenever assigned by the farm manager
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in vegetable production.
Excellent English
Microsoft Excel (an advantage)
Team player, self-disciplined, honest with high integrity
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
