Position: Public Relations Manager - Group Level

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (with occasional travel)

We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Manager to lead corporate communications and brand management across our diversified investment portfolio including agriculture, high-tech smart card manufacturing, bottled water production, and other ventures. The ideal candidate will build and maintain our corporate reputation, manage media relations, and ensure consistent messaging across all business units and geographic locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate Communications Strategy
Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies for the group and individual business units
Manage corporate branding and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms
Create and implement crisis communication plans
Develop positioning strategies for diverse business sectors
2. Media Relations & Management
Serve as primary media contact for the organization in Ethiopia and internationally
Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets (agricultural, technology, business press)
Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and corporate announcements
Organize press conferences and media events
3. Multi-Industry PR Management
Agriculture Sector: Promote sustainable farming practices and community engagement
High-Tech Manufacturing: Position as technology leader in smart card industry
Bottled Water: Communicate quality standards and environmental responsibility
Develop industry-specific messaging and campaigns
4. Stakeholder Engagement
Manage relationships with government agencies, industry associations, and community leaders
Coordinate with Dubai HQ on international PR initiatives
Develop stakeholder communication plans for each business unit
Represent company at industry events and conferences
5. Content Development & Digital PR
Oversee development of corporate publications, newsletters, and annual reports
Manage social media presence and digital communication strategies
Create compelling content for diverse audiences and platforms
Monitor media coverage and PR performance metrics

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field
Master's degree in Communications or MBA preferred
Experience:
Minimum 6-8 years in public relations or corporate communications
Minimum 3 years in managerial PR role
Experience working with multiple industries/business sectors
International or multi-national company experience
Proven track record in media relations and crisis management
Language Requirements:
English: Fluent (verbal and written) - REQUIRED
Arabic: Professional proficiency - STRONG ASSET
Amharic: Professional proficiency preferred
