Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of new regions to evaluate their suitability for milk collection. This includes analyzing local dairy farming practices, infrastructure quality (such as road access and cold chain facilities), and existing milk production volumes.  

• Proactively engage with key stakeholders across the dairy value chain—including individual farmers, cooperatives, milk collection centers, and local authorities—to gather reliable primary data on milk production volumes, collection routes, and market practices. 

• Combine and critically analyze multiple data inputs (field surveys, interviews, focus groups) and secondary sources (existing reports, government statistics, prior studies) to develop an updated, comprehensive overview of milk production per milkshed. 

• Break down larger milksheds into smaller, practical segments for milk collection operations. Estimate milk volumes (both potential and actual) available for collection within each segment, based on data analysis and field insights. 

• Support continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks (in collection routes, farm-cooperative engagement, infrastructure gaps) and propose pragmatic solutions to improve milk-collection efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 

Job Requirements

• BA in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field 

• 1-3 years’ experience in dairy operations, milk collection/processing, supply-chain mapping or food quality assurance. 

• Proven experience in field-based data collection, research, or mapping exercises. 

• Strong understanding of the local dairy farming sector. 

• An analytical and structured mindset, with the ability to work independently. 

• Excellent computer skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel 

• Comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including farmers, cooperatives, and local authorities 

• Strong organizational skills and a high degree of integrity and reliability 

• Speaking of local language in the above stated areas is an advantage
