Job Description

The Finance Manager oversees all financial operations for Sequoia Consultancy & Advisory PLC, including consultancy and client training services. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, cost management, and strategic financial guidance to support business growth, project profitability, and sustainable operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to finance managers, ensuring alignment with company strategy.

  • Establish and implement financial frameworks to support new business ventures, consultancy projects, and training programs.

  • Monitor the financial performance of all units, with a strong focus on ROI and long-term sustainability.

  • Support finance teams in resolving complex issues and driving continuous improvement.

  • Oversee preparation of accurate quarterly, monthly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure all tax filings, regulatory submissions, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.

  • Maintain adherence to Ethiopian accounting standards and IFRS.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.

  • Lead the development of company-wide budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

  • Monitor variances against budgets and provide management with clear financial insights.

  • Evaluate new projects, client training programs, and consultancy services for financial viability and ROI.

  • Advise management on pricing, investment decisions, and expansion opportunities.

  • Ensure liquidity across all business operations through effective cash flow management.

  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments.

  • Manage banking relationships and safeguard company funds.

  • Define and track key financial KPIs, with a strong focus on profitability, ROI, and budget adherence.

  • Present financial dashboards and reports to senior management and the board.

  • Mentor and develop finance managers and staff to build a high-performing team.

  • Drive implementation of financial systems, policies, and processes to enhance efficiency and accountability.

  • Foster a culture of compliance, transparency, and financial discipline across the organization.

  • Advise on pricing, cost optimization, investments, and expansion opportunities for consultancy and training services.

  • Monitor key financial KPIs (profitability, cash flow, budget adherence) and prepare dashboards for management.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).

  • 5 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.

  • Experience in consultancy, advisory, or client-facing service organizations is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Ethiopian accounting standards, IFRS, taxation, and financial regulations.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.

  • Proficiency in financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

  • Experience with financial systems, ERP, and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to monitor KPIs, manage project and training program finances, and ensure profitability.

  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills to manage the finance team and advise management.

  • Capacity to analyze client training and consultancy program ROI and provide actionable financial insights.
