Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assisting the General Counsel on the provision of legal support to ensure the alignment of EIH operations, activities, and transactions with EIH objectives, policies, law and regulations.

• Representing the legal team in investment transaction negotiations and preparation of associated transactional documents.

• Advising portfolio directors on portfolio management issues (restructuring, privatization, transformation) and instilling of international best practice corporate governance principles.

• Approving EIH legal communication with third parties.

• Drafting and reviewing transactional documents.

• Overseeing and approving the work of the Legal Counsel in drafting legal advice documents.

• Onboarding of and facilitating training of new legal team members.

Qualification Requirement

Education and Experience

• LLB or LLM in Corporate law or Trade and Economic law or Business Laws 

• 7 – 10 years of experience in private legal practice engaged in various investment transactions by drafting shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements, share purchase agreements, negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts, drafting and reviewing legal opinions.

Competencies Required

• Ability to clearly express ideas and information, both verbally and in writing

• Adherence to high standards of honesty, ethics, and professional conduct

• Ability to work well with others, contribute to group efforts and fostering a positive team dynamic

• Strong knowledge of corporate and contract law and enabling informed legal advice that supports business growth and risk management

• Expertise in navigating regulatory environments and staying updated on legislative changes that impact the organization.

• Proficiency in handling due diligence, structuring investment deals, and navigating regulatory approvals for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures

• Understanding of corporate governance principles

• Ability to align legal strategy with business goals

• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively

• Capacity to analyze complex situations, identify solutions, and make sound decisions
