Position : Office of HRM Department

Reports to : The Office of the Brewery Department

Supervises

The Nurse is responsible to maintain a healthy work force through provision of effective clinical and nursing care resulting in reduction of lost man hours through ill health there by maximizing profitability

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injury and illness is done on site

   1. A clinical nurse takes down the vital signs of the patient and check for any irregularities and gives proper treatment.

   2. Make sure referrals done via Clinical Officer for more complicated cases and follow ups with local hospitals are done

   3. Assisted in facilitating Medical retirement for employees with chronic ill health.

   4. First Aiders Activities monitored

   5. All HIV/AIDS programs monitored and support of peer educators attained

   6. Always checks & follows medical equipment’s of the clinic are clean and ready for clinical use.

   7. Gives proper attention & treatment for injured employees and if the case of injury needs further handling he/she notify to head of the clinic and arranges for immediate treatment.

   8. Helps the patient employee to get ready for test and other examination before the handling of specialist doctor of the brewery.

   9. Based on the type of wound he/she perform minor surgery.

   10. In case of further treatment he/she refers the patient to hospital or to part time specialist doctor of the clinic.

   11. Ensure that First Aid Boxes are inspected

Health care training

1. Advices & transfers knowledge to employees regarding communicable diseases.

2. Participate in health promotion activities

3. Participate on handling & controlling of communicable diseases

Others

1. Update Occupational Health & Safety Register

2. May be delegated to perform as a head of clinic in case of clinical head absence.

3. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Academic requirement: BSC/ Diploma in laboratory or related fields

Work experience: 2/4 years of experience

Additional Competencies : 

• Proven experience as a pharmacist

• Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.

• Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems (eg. MediTech, Mediware etc.)

• Good organizing skills

• Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach
