This new clinic will operate on a compassionate, medium-cost share model, dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality healthcare. Our approach empowers patients to be active partners in their health journey. We are now seeking a Receptionist Casher who embodies this spirit of service, clarity, and support.
Position Summary
The Receptionist Casher will be organized and detail-oriented, to be the first point of contact for our patients. This role is crucial to creating a welcoming and reassuring environment. The ideal candidate will be not only an administrative expert but also a clear communicator who can confidently explain our cost-share structure and assist patients with their financial responsibilities. You will be the friendly face and voice of our clinic.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction & Front Desk Management:
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and empathetic manner.
Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls promptly and efficiently.
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes smoothly.
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information with a high degree of accuracy.
Financial & Cost-Share Administration:
Clearly and patiently explain the clinic's medium-cost share model, patient responsibilities, and payment policies
Calculate and collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and other cost-share amounts at the time of service.
Process payments (cash, credit, debit) and provide receipts.
Assist patients with understanding their visit summaries and any follow-up financial obligations.
Help patients navigate any payment plan options or financial assistance information.
Administrative Support:
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and waiting area.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail and faxes.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed.
Maintain office supplies for the front desk area.
Job Requirements
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical receptionist or similar front desk role.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong ability to explain financial concepts with clarity, patience, and sensitivity.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Professional and compassionate phone etiquette.
Preferred:
Experience in a clinic with a direct-pay, cost-share, or concierge medicine model.
Basic understanding of medical terminology.
Experience with medical billing or payment processing.
Bilingual skills (English/[Other Language]) are a plus.
