The officer will contribute to the development and improvement of the project by collecting and analysing information and monitoring quality within defined standards. He/she will support with gathering of evidence under the guidance of more senior technical professionals at PIE to support decisions on project design, and delivery. 

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) 

• Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.

• Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

• Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Program Participant and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

Job Requirements

The Individual

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Mid – Wife Nurse at least 3 years relevant experience of which at least one-year experience with NGOs on SRHR and/ or SGBV.

• Demonstrated experience on working with SRHR.

• Extensive knowledge of the sexual and reproductive health rights and gender equality and girls’ rights.

• In-depth knowledge of project cycle management, results-based programming and adolescent, child and youth centred development programming

• Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development

• Knowledge of effective participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Research systems and processes

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with colleagues.

• Gender analysis and gender mainstreaming skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation.

• Strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills.

• Numeracy and the ability to interpret financial data, in order to understand budgetary processes including planning, monitoring and reporting.

• Ability to analyst information and evaluate options including planning skills

• Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications

Languages required:

• Fluency in English language is essential

• Knowledge of local language (Afan Oromo is Mandatory)
