The Building Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within residential and commercial. This role ensures all electrical components operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local codes and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Installation & Maintenance

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and other electrical systems.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.

• Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing tools and resolve faults promptly.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all work complies with national and local electrical codes, safety standards, and building regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and installations.

• Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Equipment & Systems Support

• Support HVAC, fire alarm, security, and elevator systems with electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

• Assist with generator and backup power system maintenance.

• Collaborate with other maintenance staff to support overall building operations.

Emergency Response

• Respond to electrical emergencies and outages promptly.

• Be available for on-call duties or after-hours support as needed.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/ BSC in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field.

• • Valid electrician’s license or certification is advantageous

• • Minimum directly related 3 - 5 years of experience in commercial, residential or

• mixed use building’s electrical systems.

• • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, blueprints, and schematics.

• • Proficiency with tools such as multimeters, circuit testers, and power tools.

• • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

 Working Conditions

• On-site work in residential or commercial buildings.

• May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying weather conditions.

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
